How to submit claims

Electronically (recommended) 

  1. Connect EMR/PM system with Availity or Optum iEDI/Change Healthcare EDI clearinghouses for electronic claim submission (PayerID = DEVOT). You may need to work with your EMR/PM system to get the PayerID configured. 
  2. Claims can also be submitted electronically through Availity. View our claims submission guide for dental providers treating Devoted Dental Network members in Alabama.

Paper

If you'd rather use paper claims, here's the data you'll need:

Send any mail via USPS to ensure delivery. Some mail carriers don’t deliver to PO boxes.


Getting set up with electronic payments

Through August 2026: Continue using Payspan for electronic payments.

After you receive your first paper check from us, you can set up electronic payments.

  1. Go to Payspan’s sign-up page
  2. Enter the code found in your first paycheck to get started 

A transaction fee may apply for every paper check issued after your second check. To avoid this fee, we encourage you to sign up for electronic payments. Have questions about getting set up with electronic payments?  Here's more information about getting started with Payspan.

Starting September 2026: Devoted will move electronic payments from Payspan to a Devoted-sponsored ePayment Center in partnership with Zelis.

You can enroll in electronic payments through Devoted ePayment Center at any time. 

  1. Go to the registration page and follow the instructions to continue receiving claims payment data and remittances electronically

How to manage claims

There are several ways to manage claims after submission using the Devoted provider portal, Availity, and Payspan. Learn about our platforms and tools.

  1. You can use the Devoted Health provider portal to check claims status and submit an electronic dispute
  2. You can use Availity for Electronic data interchange (EDI) files and claim remittance 
  3. Through August 2026, you can use Payspan to also view claim remittance, electronic explanation of payment (EOP) and payment details. Starting September 2026, you can use Devoted ePayment Center for these services.
